Mr. Lane Hoy
Hello students and parents! I am really excited about the upcoming year. This is my second year teaching and my second year at Kennard ISD. I am orginally from Huffman, Tx and a graduate of Hargrave High School. I attended Sam Houston State University and recieved an Associates of Science and took several classes at Texas A&mM University. I graduated from SHSU in Summer of 2012 with a Bachelors in Agriculture Science. I am married to Jessica Hoy one of the Ag Teachers at Lovelady ISD. We strive to help each other in anyway we can and not let our competative nature get the best of us.
I am often asked at times why I became an agriculture teacher, and I always give the same answer. I truly have a passion for agriculture and the National FFA Organization. I grew up raising show lambs and cattle, and have a deep appreciation for every aspect of the agriculture industry. While I was in high school I was very active in the FFA, and it made a positive difference in my life. I want to help my students find their passion, achive their goals, and live their dreams. There are numerous ways for members to get involved in the FFA. FFA members have opportunities for travel, prize money, and college scholarships.
The National FFA Organization, formerly known as the Future Farmers of America, is a youth organization that has 649,335 members. Texas has over 115,630 FFA members, which makes us the largest state association in the Nation.
It is my sincere hope that the next time you think about agriculture, and all men and women who sacrifice so much for your family to be able to eat; that you will not take for granted the safest, cheapest, most plentiful food supply in the world.
If you can read this, thank a Teacher. If you had lunch today, THANK A FARMER!
